Most digital board games are adaptations. Somebody took a cardboard game that already existed and made a digital edition of it. Sin of Angels: Hell City, the SOA game, went the other way. It was designed for the browser from the start, which is why it can do things a box cannot.
It is a turn based strategy board game about outlaw motorcycle clubs fighting for control of Los Angeles. It runs entirely in a browser, no install, on desktop, tablet or phone. It was built for players hunting for games like the out of print Sons of Anarchy: Men of Mayhem board game.
Sin of Angels is an independent game and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or associated with FX, 20th Television, The Walt Disney Company, or the publishers of Sons of Anarchy or Sons of Anarchy: Men of Mayhem. All trademarks are the property of their respective owners.
Two to six clubs, any mix of human players and AI, across six rounds. You spend Orders to recruit Members and Recruits, move onto Sites and work them for Cash, Guns and Narcotics, trade on The Silk Road, and manage your Felonies before the law catches up. Orders are the limiting resource and you never have enough of them.
When two clubs land on the same Site it triggers a Brawl. You call for Backup, commit Guns, and roll. Every committed Gun wounds one random Crew member of its target and sends them to the ER, and the loser retreats to their Clubhouse. It plays out as a cinematic 3D fight rather than a card flip, and the outcome is resolved before the animation starts, so a slow device never changes who won.
Most Cash after round six. Territory is how you earn that Cash, it is not the win condition by itself. A tie goes to whoever holds the Envelope, which also sets turn order. That split is deliberate: if territory won outright, the last round would collapse into a land grab.
Party mode is the part a physical copy cannot do. One shared table, private hands, no install, and nobody hunting eBay for an out of print box.
Sin of Angels, the SOA game, is in closed beta, and the beta is free to play. It is not publicly playable yet. Beta testers get in before release and their bug reports shape the finished game.
After the beta the game becomes paid. A single purchase is planned to cover browser, Steam and Android together, with cross-compatibility between them.
